Brianna Star Ordóñez is an artist and educator from Brooklyn, New York. In December of 2019, she obtained her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts Degree in Art Education from Montserrat College of Art. When she isn't creating relief prints, she can be found working in mediums such as clay, found paper, and ink.
Many of Brianna’s works deal with themes such as family, culture, and identity. Her work often addresses the loss of self, which is an issue she grappled with upon leaving New York City to attend college in Massachusetts. This loss of self had very much to do with this drastic change of environment and coming to terms with her own identity in an area far less diverse than New York City. It was during this time the artist picked up her first set of carving tools and began creating works that reminded her of home, family, and who she is. Her most recent works explore the idea of family through relief printmaking and figurative drawing.
